History of Densen Densen Audio Technologies is the culmination of a life long passion for music and hifi. Allready when our Head Honcho Thomas Sillesen was 13 years old he made his first amplifier. Turning 18 Thomas started working parttime at an audioshow, while attending high school.During his youth, he continued his passion, and while at business school Thomas started importing and distributing audio in Denmark. This was not succesfull, as it was cool business and not made with the heart.Thomas took the consequence, and stopped importing hifi, and founded Densen in order to make hifi equipment completely without compromise! This was done while still in business school, where Thomas finished with a M.Sc. (B.A. & Ec.) in Quality Control and Quality Management (as the first dane ever). That the Densen products are really made with no compromise in order to meet Thomas´ high standards are obvious, as Densen is the only company that offer a lifelong warranty for the first owner. A warranty that obviously puts high demands on the company to make perfect and lasting products.Another example that proves that Densen is really made for Thomas, instead of the classic business approach where a company targets the market, is the curiosity that the volumecontrol are placed on the left side of the cabinets, which is done because Thomas is lefthanded!So in that respect we do not make products the way the marked would like us to make them. Hot in the heels of the award winning Densen
B-110 and B-150 integrated amplifiers, Densen now introduces the B-130. Priced
in between the B-110 and B-150, the B-130 in reality is a downscaled B-150 using
many of the same advanced solutions, that has made the B-150 amplifier of the
year, and editors choice in many countries.The B-130 contains Densens strong
signature of engaging and neutral sound, with both details and dynamics. The
topology solutions are highly advanced, and not normal present in amplifiers in
this pricerange. Like all other Densen amplifiers the B-130 is a non-feedback
design, using extremely fast and reliable transistors, and other high quality
parts to make an amplifier which no matter the loading, will perform at its
best.The B-130 contains several unique features, like processorloop, to allow
easy connection to external surroundprocessors and the possibility of adding
Densens SB-1 or SB-2 analogue surroundboards for easy connection to DVD players
with analogue 5+1 or 7+1 output.Also there is internal sockets for Densens DP-03
MM stage, and the forthcoming DP-06 MC stage. Naturally Densens B-130 contains
several connections, including 2 preamp outputs, so it is possible to upgrade to
either bi- or tri-amping. Internally in the B-130 is a socket, which allows to
further update with the Densen SAXO electronic crossover to an active system.The
B-130 contains separate powersupplies for outputtransistors, drivers, preamp and
microprocessor, a total of 7 rectifiers and 90.000uF capacity coupled with a
massive toroid transformer, which is encapsulated to minimize influence from
vibrations. By use of surface mounted components, it has been possible to keep
the total size of the PCB small, to minimize EFI distortion on the circuit. As
such each amplifier channel is not larger than a credit card, which has allowed
a much faster than normal circuit, due to the minimum EFI influence.Not only the
powersupply and pcb layout is done without any compromise, also the used
components are of an extremely high quality, as such there is used Vishay
metalfilm resistors, custommade capacitors, high quality Vima Film capacitors,
Sanken transistors, sealed relays and goldplated inputs. However the most
important is the sound, and the Densen team has done as much as humanly possible
to make the sound performance of the B-130 second to none. The B-130
delievers 80watt in 8 ohm, and 160watts in 4 ohm. Has connections for Densens
DenLink multiroom system, and as all other Densen products, comes with a

The new reference integrated amplifier from
Densen is perhaps the most advanced integrated amp on the market. It is filled
with advanced solutions, which all share the goal of giving you even more
musicality and flexibility. The volume is controlled by an extremely
precise attenuator made of Vishay metal film resistors, which is switched by
relays controlled by the microprocessor. Compared to a normal volume
potentiometer of the kind used in the majority of all preamps, the resistor
network has virtually no self induced noise and an extremely low distortion.
This results in an unsurpassed precision and refinement, and the attenuator
contains no less than 200 steps! This makes it possible to adjust the volume
very precisely (0.5 dB) even when the sound is so low that an ordinary volume
control would create an uneven balance between left and right.The B-150 output
stage utilizes Densen’s unique ”DMCD” (Densen Mass Current Distribution)
technology. The B-150 is, as with all other Densen amplifiers, The DMCD
technology also secures an extremely firm grip on the speakers combined with a
fast, precise and truly transparent sound. As the B-150 is a wide bandwidth
design it goes straight to 400.000Hz, resulting in improved slew-rate. The B-150
is built using surface mounting techniques, and the components are mounted with
a precision of 0.02mm (!) using silver solder. All solderings are made in an
artificial atmosphere, consisting of nitrogen, to avoid oxidation of the
solderings. The power supply is massive, consisting of a 750VA transformer and
having a storage capacity of 130.000uF with 4 separate rectifiers, two of which
are capable of 3.000VA. Unusually for an amplifier, not all of the capacitors
are mounted in a capacitor bank, as some of them are located directly adjoining
the output stage for faster power delivery. All resistors are laser trimmed
metal film from Vishay with a precision of 0.1%. The B-150 delivers 100W in 8
ohm and 200W in 4 ohm. The transformer is custom-made for the B-150, and is
winded using a new technique. This technique reduces vibration from the
transformer and therefore reduces mechanical noise from the cabinet. At the same
time, this prevents mechanical vibrations from reaching the delicate audio
signals on the PCB. It also works as an isolation transformer, thereby
eliminating the need to use separate power conditioners. The special
winding techniques used also ensure that the transformer modulates less than is
normal (for other amplifiers) during the delivery of large amounts of current.
Transformers normally lower the voltage during the delivery of large amounts of
current which results in compression of the signal’s dynamics. As a result of
the new winding method the transformer in the B-150 is extremely stiff, which
means that the voltage does not drop under large current deliveries. The
printed circuit board is made of Teflon, and is double sided to allow for the
signal on one side and the ground plane on the other, thereby optimising
interference free signal transfer. The B-150 contains sockets for the SB Board
for surround, DP-03 and DP-06 MM and MC stages. There is also the possibility of
upgrading the B-150 with the DNRG external power supply to further enhance the
sound quality, so as to experience truly breathtaking musical experiences. The
B-150 is also prepared for the SAXO electronic crossover, so that the B-150 can
be used in active systems. This is done by mounting the crossover internally in
the B-150 in a socket. The SAXO crossover will fit all passive speakers on the
market. The DenLink system implemented in all Densen products allows 2-way
communication in multiroom installations. On the B-150, the link system will
allow the user to power up a link amplifier in the kitchen, or another room, and
then control the main system in for example the living room, sending the signals
to and from the kitchen, for playback in another room. It will be possible to
have full display information in another room, with status on all products. The
DenLink / Multiroom system is also prepared for controlling the lights, so you

Densen now launches the B-175 Integrated Amplifier. The B-175 is the most powerful integrated amplifier ever from Densen, but despite that contains a care for details and nuances that is stunning. From the first look on the B-175 it is obvious that the B-175 is something special in the Densen family. It has the fascia of the B-250 preamp, and combines this with the brute and forceful cabinet of the B-350 mono block with its recessed heat sinks. This is no coincidence, as the B-175 merges the technology of Densens 2 current top of the line products; the B-250 preamp and B-350 mono blocks in one cabinet. Naturally some corners have been cut, to shoehorn such advanced products into the cabinet and budget of the B-175. However as always with Densen, the choices have been taken purely on sonic ground. The performance of the B-175 is therefore outstanding, and belies its modest price. The B-175 delivers 2x125w in 8 ohm, and 2x250w in 4 ohm, and does this with an ease and control, that must be heard to be believed. The large recessed heat sinks, allows for the amplifier to run with a high bias, thereby securing that most power in normal listening conditions are delivered in Class A. The powersupply is made with a toroid transformer, encapsulated for isolation of vibrations to the main PCB, and with separate outputs to all critical stages of the power and preamp sections of the B-175. As always with Densen, it contains custommade capacitors made especially for the circuit in which they are used. No less than 15 custommade capacitors is used in the powersupply of the B-175. Further to that, for the first time ever in a Densen amplifier, there is used Densens own filmcapacitors. These film capacitors are the result of a long research of the behaviour of capacitors in critical paths of amplifiers. As such they are tailormade to the way Densen designs amplifiers, to give a performance not even found in the most well respected audiophile capacitors offered by other capacitor manufacturers. The B-175 contains no less than 10 separate voltage regulators, many implemented as SMD voltage regulators, placed close to where the power is needed, thereby securing a smoth power delivery, to each critical stage of the amplifier. The actually poweramp design of the B-175 relies on the B-350 monoblock design, but with a few adjustments, to optimise it for its working conditions in the B-175. The poweroutput is transferred internally from the poweramp to the speakerterminals using a custommade cable, which is silvercoated copper with an isolation of Teflon. This cable was first used in Densens DM-10 amplifier, and now sees its rebirth in the B-175, securing a unsurpassed signal transfer. The preamp is based on the Densen reference preamp; the B-250. As such it is a pure class A preamp, with an advanced microprocessor controlled attenuator. In these times, digital volume controls are often used in even high end amps. However digital volume controls, typically contains over 500 components in a compact microchip, with all the complications this means to the tiny vulnerable audiosignals. On top of that, digital volumecontrols typically has poor performance at low attenuation levels, which is where they are often used in normal listening conditions, where they will have high distortion and time related distortions, resulting in listening fatigue and lack of transparency and details. Densen has therefore never used digital volumecontrols on any their products, instead opting for an advanced ultra precise attenuator. This attenuator is implemented with the use of Vishay 0,1% lasertrimmed metal film resistors, giving a transparency and accuracy that is outstanding. Further the attenuator is calibrated by the user, by an interface with the amplifiers microprocessor. This means that the microprocessor that also takes care of the B-175s display, remote, inputselector and DenLink multiroom system, also takes care of the calibration of the attenuator to the listening level desired by the listener. The calibration is done in ½ db steps, allowing a high resolution, securing that the listener can always hit the precise listening level he desire. Further the microprosessor controls the B-175s option of installing a analogue surroundboard, which is a board that expands the B-175s preamp to a true 7+1 analogue preamp, securing a precise and straight signal path for users who wants to upgrade the B-175 with a DVD with 5+1 or BluRay with 7+1 analogue output, and with further poweramplifiers to control all speakers in either a 5+1 or 7+1 system. Audiophiles wanting to use the B-175 with a gramophone can convert on of the B-175s line inputs to either a MM or MC RIAA input by the purchase of a dedicated phonostage to insert in the B-175. Naturally the B-175 has the option of adding Densens advanced DNRG external powersupply. Finally the B-175 contains a socket for Densens advanced SAXO electronic crossover, resulting in the possibility of upgrading the Densen B-175 with several Densen poweramps and SAXOs to allow for true active performance in a high end system. Soundwise the B-175 contains the best of Densen; the fast engaging sound, the smooth detailed presentation, with a flow and transparency that must be heard. The Densen B-250 has established itself as a reference preamplifier on the high end market over the years. Now Densen introduces the B-250CAST. Taking many of the innovations from the B-275 Super Leggera preamp, the B-250CAST offers a new level of performance from the renowned B-250. The B-250CAST is filled with advanced solutions, which all share the goal of giving you even more musicality. The volume level is controlled by an extremely precise attenuator made of Vishay metal film resistors, which is switched by relays controlled by the microprocessor. In comparison with a normal volume potentiometer of the kind used in the majority of all preamps, the microprocessor controlled attenuator has virtually no self induced noise and an extremely low distortion. This results in an unsurpassed precision and refinement, and the attenuator contains no less than 200 steps! This makes it possible to adjust the volume very precisely (0.5dB) even when the sound is so low that an ordinary volume control would create an uneven balance between left and right. Compared to the popular digital volume controls used in many amps now a days, the difference is even more substantial. Digital volume controls typically uses FETs for the regulation, and has signalpaths with up to 600 components inside the IC. As such, they lacks transparency and detaillevel. It is well known fact, that High end manufacturers often faces problems with own software, as the computer and phone manufacturers develops new software, that is incompatible with the high end manufacturers streaming software. The digital signal from the GOOGLE CAST is converted to analogue using the build in DAC of the CAST AMP. This DAC is based on Densens experiences with DAC designs, which traces back to 1996, where Densen designed their first DAC as a OEM product for a well respected European High End manufacturer. The CAST AMP DAC allows 192/24 and as such is capable of higher resolution than GOOGLES CAST delivers, this allows for future upgrades of the GOOGLE CAST technology with ease. Further the B-250CAST preamps DAC is using an DAC chip encapsulated in a shielding box, to minimize interference, and optimizing performance. It uses dedicated high performance components like Vishay metalfilm resistors and capacitors choosen for their sonical superiority, including Densens own power supply capacitors. The analogue stage is naturally a discrete design, using ultrafast transistors, and works in Class A. Naturally, this DAC can be upgraded if needed, without having to change the complete B-250CAST!Further the B-250CAST will support NAS drives as storage, using BubbleUPnP and other similar programs.billede1 billede2 billede3 billede5 The Densen B-250CAST is done with all the usual Densen focus on even the smallest parametres of the design. The B-250CAST has a build in mains filter, that do not raise the impedance of the mains, and as such do not slow down the powersupply, but at the same time, it makes sure, that there is no DC in the mains AC supply! The 3 transformers are encapsulated, to avoid vibration interfering with the audio circuit. The powersupply capacitors are all Densen Custom Made Capacitors. The analogue stages are made with ultrafast transistors, high quality capacitors, and Vishay metalfilm resistors. Densen has focussed on making the signal path as short as possible, while at the same time, avoiding interference from each part of the circuit. All components are surface mounted with a precision of 0,02mm! The circuit board is Teflon isolated, the input terminals are all selected for their sonic superiority, as they lead the signal from the cable directly down to the circuit board signal path with only 1 soldering. The solder is silver base, and all solderings are done in an athmosphere of nitrogen, to avoid oxidation of the solderings, which over time, would have resulted in degration of the sound! As always with Densen, the sound has had top priority, and as such, the B-250CAST offers a strong musical performance in line with the traditions of Densen. Dynamics, transparency, detaillevel, soundstage, precision and musicality is outstanding, and using the B-250CAST will allow the user to delve into the music, and forget about the technology in the quest for audiophile nirvana! The Densen BEAT-200PLUS is the most classic product, currently in Densens line. It was at the forefront of audio in 1994 when it was launched, and still it is a reference preamplifier, especially with the new PLUS version, which has resulted in an even more refined sound and performance. As you would expect, it bears the Densen trademark of engaging musicality, but the BEAT-200PLUS is also technically sophisticated and is fully engineered for the Gizmo system remote. The B-200PLUS marks the begining of a new phase for Densen, as it contains several unique, exciting solutions. Soundwise the B-200PLUS is – as with all other Densen products – designed with the absolute highest sound-quality as its goal. From the second the signal enters the B-200PLUS there is no compromise. The input selection is done with a special version of CP Claire’s best relay. The CP Claire PRME 25005 is a mono relay, providing the B-200PLUS with relays for both left and right signal - and a total of no less than 18 CP Claire relays, though the layout of the signal path means that the signal will travel through an absolute minimum of relays. From the input relays the signal is sent to the first stage of the preamp. Normally the signal would be sent directly to the potentiometer, but by starting with the first amplifier stage, the amplifier stage can be designed not only to take care of its normal function, but also to interact perfectly with the volume potentiometer that follows it. This ensures that signal sources with inferior output-stages will stil work perfectly with the B-200PLUS, because it is easier for them to work with the input stage rather then with a potentiometer that changes electrical ccharacteristics with the volume setting. From the volume potentiometer the signal is sent to the final stages of the B-200PLUS. The last stages are designed to be able to drive long cable runs, enabling it to work perfectly with several power amplifiers at once, even if they are placed alongway away from the B-200PLUS. This is done by making the output-stage a 6W Class-A power amplifier with no feedback… Naturally the amplifier stages are totally discrete designs, using ultrafast transistors and massive power supplies. The whole of the circuitry is designed with the best components, and as such all inputs are goldplated, all resistors are 1% laser-trimmed metalfilm or better, all capacitors are selected for their sonic quality, and a Alps RK27 motor-driven potentiometer is used in a 4 times version. The power supply is built with the same encapsulated transformers as in Densen's top of the line preamp, the DM-20. We use no less than 5 custom-made capacitors, with a total capacity of 50.000 uF. There are seperate transformers for audio and for the CPU/Link system. The design is optimised to perfection, with only a minimum of leaded components, the rest being high quality SMD components, mounted with a precision of 0.05 mm! There is used a special teflon double-sided PCB, which is highly unusual, but has dramatic effects on the signal quality. As always, the B-200PLUS is prepared for bi-amping, but this time it is also prepared for quad-amping, allowing it to drive up to 4 stereo power amplifiers, or 8 monoblocks! If the connected power amplifier is Densen’s BEAT 320, it will be possible to make the system active by using electronic crossovers mounted internally in the BEAT B-300. This provides a clear upgrade path, from one B-200PLUS/B-310 to one B-200 and up to four B-330's using electronic crossovers, in an state-of-the-art active system.It is naturally possibile to mount a DP-01 phono-stage internally in the B-200PLUS. As allways with a Densen product, the circuit itself is built using no feedback, which results in an open, transparent and dynamic sound with the Densen trademark musical involvement in the foreground. The B-200PLUS is not only optimised soundwise; the remote and link system are also state-of-the-art, the result of 2 software programmers work since February 1996.The B-200PLUS link system allows two-way communication in multiroom installations. It is made to be an intelligent system, where every product helps the others, so that IR signals recieved by the B-200PLUS or another product are transferred to the product for which they are intented, securing a perfect reception of IR information. Each product will be avare of which other Densen products are in the system, allowing for problem free use of the remote etc. On the B-200PLUS, the link system will allow the user to power-up a link amplifier in the kitchen, or in another room and then control the main system in the living room, sending the signals to and from the kitchen, for playback in the kitchen only (or in the bedroom, or somewhere else). It will be possible to have full display information on the status of all units in another room. It will also be possible to take the remote to another room and control the link from there, or to use the remote in the main system like a normal remote. The whole link system interacts with a type D-Subconnector, and as such uses a computer standard, allowing for easy updating.The frontpanel functions are also improved, without sacrificing the Densen trademark of no-nonsense. One of the new features is stand-by, allowing not only the B-200PLUS to be put in stand-by, but also all other connected Densen products. Another feature is the processor loop, allowing for the use of the forthcoming surround processor. To secure high quality sound in this multiroom system, the B-200PLUS has also a seperate preamp stage for the link system, securing perfect quality, without interfering with the B-200PLUS’s main preamp. The link preamp is designed with a 833 IC which is run in balanced mode to secure no hum, even in link installations with long cableruns. Even though the 833 is of high quality, used in many of our competitors preamps, we feel it works best as a balanced amplifier in the link system, and that our discrete single-ended circuit is much better for real high-end use.All in all, this system is extremely versatile and will form the backbone of Densen products for many years to come. It is even prepared for extensions, meaning that the CPU, which is the heart of the system, can be updated.To avoid making the CPU in the B-200PLUS too costly, we have been able to optimize the Link/remote system considerably. The reference
preamplifier from Densen is perhaps the most advanced stereo preamp on the

attenuator made of Vishay metal film resistors, which is switched by relays
controlled by the microprocessor. Compared to the normal volume potentiometer

Densen has for
years been working on streaming solutions, but realized over time, that the real
challenge is not to make the WIFI receiver, but to make sure, software stays up
to date, and from an audio point of view: avoid WIFI interference inside the
cabinet and most importantly, secure superior sound quality. Out of this came
the idea of using an external WIFI source, instead of installing the high
frequency receiver close to sensitive audio circuits inside the cabinet. Using
the GOOGLE CAST receiver, the Densen CAST AMP has a dedicated Densen CAST
powersupply, which is an extreme low noise PSU, to secure that the GOOGLE CAST
has perfect working conditions. On top of that, the Densen CAST AMP has a
dedicated optical input, allowing the GOOGLE CAST to perform at its best, with
the highest possible data quality. Densen has even developed a dedicated power
cord to connect the GOOGLE CAST to the CAST AMP. This powercord is shielded, to
avoid interference, and securing an optimal performance. Further a Densen
developed a Toslinkcable to complete the setup, and naturally, this optical
cable is optimized for use between the GOOGLE CAST and the CAST AMP.One of the
great benefits of the Densen CAST AMP design is, that Densen has avoided
creating their own software. It is well known fact, that High end manufacturers
often faces problems with own software, as the computer and phone manufacturers
develops new software, that is incompatible with the high end manufacturers
streaming software. The digital signal from the GOOGLE CAST is converted to
analogue using the build in DAC of the CAST AMP. This DAC is based on Densens
experiences with DAC designs, which traces back to 1996, where Densen designed
their first DAC as a OEM product for a European High End manufacturer. The CAST
AMP DAC allows 192/24 and as such is capable of higher resolution than GOOGLES
CAST delivers, this allows for future upgrades of the GOOGLE CAST technology
with ease. The CAST AMP DAC has a gain selector, which secures high resolution
when setting the gain from low volume up to full party mode! Further the CAST
AMP DAC is using an DAC chip encapsulated in a shielding box, to minimize
interference, and optimizing performance. It uses dedicated high performance
components like Vishay metalfilm resistors and capacitors choosen for their
sonical superiority, including Densens own power supply capacitors. The analogue
stage is naturally a discrete design, using ultrafast transistors, and works in
Class A. Naturally, this DAC can be upgraded if needed, without having to change
the complete CAST AMP. The most unique part of the Densen CAST AMP is however
the poweramplifier. It is based on the forthcoming Densen B-390 poweramp. A
design which Densen started the designwork on back in 2002! Over the years it
has been optimized and now plays at Densen HeadHoncho Thomas Sillesens reference
system, while Densen lays final hands on the production version of the B-390,
which will be launched by the end of 2017, with a pricetag of Euro 40.000,-! The
Densen CAST AMP uses the B-390 technology and topology in a scaled down version,
and as such the Densen CAST AMP delivers 2x60W in 8 ohn and 2x120W in 4 ohm. The
circuit is optimized to drive difficult loads with ease, to allow for a fluent
reproduction of music in all cases. Densen has always had a strong attention to
the powersupplies of their products. Over the years this has resulted in Densen
using exclusively their own powersupply capacitors which are designed
specifically for the circuits they are being used in, instead of relying on
standard capacitors and solutions. The Densen powersupplies has always contained
several separate supplies, focusing on clean power to all stages of the products,
and the transformers have always been custommade and most of them encapsulated
in epoxy to minimise vibrations influence on the delicate audio signals on the
PCB board. In the CAST AMP this has naturally also been optimized, to allowing
for superior performance of each part of the circuit. In the Densen CAST AMP no
less than 9 individual rectifiers is used, to secure pure power at all audio
stages. The CAST AMP is the first product to use a new developed cabinet from
Densen. Normally audio products are made using plastic front panels and sheet
metal cabinets which has been bend in to shape and powder painted. Densen
exclusively uses extruded cabinets, where all parts are made of aluminium, and
extruded into shape. This allows them to much morerigid than normal cabinets,
and also to be made to much tighter tolerances. At the same time, using only
aluminium allows for the cabinets to be relative light, despite the impressive
thickness of the cabinet, where the minimum thickness is 3 mm, and many parts
even thicker! Naturally it is a huge benefit, that aluminium is non magnetic,
and such, there is no magnetic distortion of the tiny audio signals. The final
benefit of the aluminium cabinet, is that the whole cabinet acts as heatsink,
for optimum heat dissipation, further in the extrusion is included integral heat
fins on both sides of the cabinet. As such the cabinet could house a massive
power amp, without violating the international standards for maximum temperature
on audio cabinets. This also allows the CAST AMP to run in relative high bias,
and thereby securing that most of the audioplayback taking place in Class A,
while at the same time keep the benefits of headroom and dynamics as it act as a
Class AB at high output levels. The result of all these achievements are a fluid
musicality that must be heard to be believed. And a transparent precise and
detailed soundstage and a dynamic that must be heard to be believed makes the
Densen CAST AMP a neutral and precise performer of music, no matter the
preferences. One will notice, that there are no display on the CAST AMP, as
Densen explains, 99% of all customers will anyway relate to their Computer,
Tablet or Phone for information about the playback, so it was better to save the
money, and use them on even higher grade part, than normally associated with
audio equipment in this segment. The CAST AMP is completely made in Denmark. The
PCB are robot mounted in Denmark to tolerances less than 0,02 mm, all solderings
are done in an artificial atmosphere of nitrogen to avoid oxidation of the
solderings. The PCB itself is a 4 layer board, where 2 layers are used as ground
layers, to further isolate the circuitry. This makes it possible to optimize the
signalpath, while keeping a good insolation from various interference, due to
the ground layers on the board. As usual for a Densen product, besides the
standard warranty in the country where it is bought, Densen gives the first
owner a lifelong warranty. This warranty comes into place, when the national
warranty expires, and is done directly between Densen and the owner of the
product.The CAST AMP can be used in GOOGLE HOME installations to implement
multiroom solutions. Further the CAST AMP canbe used solely as standalone
poweramp, in which case it has a 5volt trigger, to make remote power on/off
available.All these highly advanced solutions have only one goal; to ensure that
the Densen CAST AMP is the ultimate in musicalitywith an unprecedented level of
opportunity for upgrading and expanding. This is a no compromise construction.

The B-330 is a direct descendent from the top of the line B-350 monoblocks. The B-350 monoblocks act as the internal reference at Densen. Shortly before christmas Danish High End manufacturer Densen launched the B-410 CD player. The first in a new line of Densen CD Players, it has become an emidiate success, and are now followed by a big brother, the Densen B-420. The B-420 may look as the naturally progression of the award winning Densen B-400+ at least pricewise, but actually is more of a successor to the significantly more expensive Densen B-400XS. The B-420 is in all aspects optimised for perfect performance. The signal comes from the heavily modified CD transport, with external clock control to avoid jitter by using same clock in both sending and receiving end of the datastream. Passes trough the advanced pcb layout to the DAC, and further on through the analogue stage which uses Densen’s unique non feedback class A topology. It is further perfected from the earlier designs, and are one of the key elements that secures the extreme high sound quality of the B-420. the Densen design team has focused totally on creating a CD player that not only sets new standards for the price range, but actually plays music in a way that allows the listener to really dig into the music. In the B-420 is not only the digital and analogue stages optimized to perfection, but also the powersupply. Being the heart of all audio, the powersupply in the B-420 is comparable to many poweramplifiers with a 300 VA transformer, 40.000 uF storage capacity, and no less than 8 individual regulators and 4 bridges. Naturally this means that all digital stages, analogue stages, and microprocessors and display have individual supplies, to avoid interference, and allow all stages to work perfectly. The microprocessor contains Densens own control software, that controls both CD drive and all functionality including display, link and remote. The CD drive is modified with external clockcontroller. The analogue stages are based on Densens famed 6 watt class A amplifier stage, with no negative feed back (neither global or local), which here is obvious used in a version without 6 watts output. The B-420 uses the best components throughout the design, such as custommade capacitors, Vishay metalfilm resistors, goldplated RCA’s with direct connection to the printed circuit board. And high quality film capacitors. The B-420 is available in either albino finish with chrome pushbottons, or black with either chrome or gold pushbottons. The display is the same dotmatrix used on Densens B-110, B-150 and B-250 amplifiers.The DAC and analogue board is separated from the main CPU board, and can be upgraded as technology is progressing. Allready from the beginning the B-420 can be upgraded to the forthcoming B-440 players when this is introduced. Also owners of the smaller B-410 can get their B-410 upgraded to the B-420. The pricing of this being the pricedifference + a modest amount for labour.The DAC is a 24 bit type which is mounted under a shielded box, to avoid digital interference on the analogue stages. Using the Gizmo remote in the listening position the B-420 can have the absolute phase of the signal inverted, so even recordings with wrong phase can be played correct. Soundwise the B-420 is the result of Densen headhoncho Thomas Sillesens desire to make a CD Player that not only surpasses the current Densen models, but a CD player that will be a benchmark for what can be expected from CD players not only at the pricepoint of the B-420, but also at pricepoints much higher. The B-420 is transparent, dynamic, precise, engaging, musically correct, with a precise soundstage, and the ability to create a sound so good you forget you are “just” listening to a CD Player. The B-420 has double goldplated RCA outputs, BNC digital output and Densen’s own Digital output format which allows for easy upgrade to separate DAC and Transport, if Densen decides to launch a separate DAC. Finally, a Densen stand alone DAC. But actually not the first Densen DAC. In 1994, Densen designed the first Densen DAC for one of our colegues in the audio industry. Since then, Densens CD Players has gained a strong reputation, and naturally they contain DA Converters. Compared to the markets other DACs the DenDAC 50 is in many ways a new implementation of DACs. First, besides the DAC it contains an advanced analogue preamp. Most DACs would use a digital volume control to adjust the sound level. But Densen opted for the use of a analogue preamp, because of its superiour resolution and low sound levels. And after all, most people listen at low levels most of the time. The DenDAC 50 contains USB input, 2 COAX inputs, 2 Toslink inputs, and a extra input that can be used to update the digital inputs in the future. Thereby securing that the DenDAC is not obsolete when new standards arise. There are 3 analogue inputs using RCA connectors that are goldplated.
